Homework/Online Resources
We expect that each child will be read to nightly.  Please record the book read on your child's reading log each night.  It is okay if your child wants to read the same book multiple nights!.  We will send a book home, read it and when your child is finished with it, send it back and we will allow him/her to check out another!

Occasionally family projects will be sent home.  These projects will often be something to decorate with your child to be displayed in the classroom.  These projects will always tie in with our current unit of study and we try to send them home a week before they are due.

Below you will find some  useful and safe sites for you to use with your child.  If you know of any fun, educational sites that your child enjoys, but is not listed below, please let me know and I can add them for everyone to use.

StarFall- We use this site in class daily.  It has an interactive page for each letter of the alphabet.  While using this site, your child will be learning letter recognition (upper and lowercase) and letter sounds.

BrainPopJr- this website is full of science and social study topics.  We often will watch the short, informational videos in class for each of our units of study.  The videos are narrated by Annie and Moby and the kids love them.  This site also has some handy games to go with each video.  Username; ccsd Password: ccsdsc

PBSkids- This site has a lot of academic games that are hosted by some of PBS's most popular characters (Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Arthur, and more!) The kids can play phonics and number games on this site for free.  Also, there are video clips (and sometimes full episodes) of Curious George, Dino Train, Arthur, and Daniel Tiger!
