Jacqueline Shelor

Mrs. Shelor, Literacy Intervention

My name is Mrs. Shelor and I have been at NCES since 2000, teaching kindergarten and first grade before becoming a Literacy Interventionist. I attended the College of Charleston where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I also attained my add-on certification in Learning Disabilities before going on to get my masters' degree in Literacy from the Citadel in 2012. I want to welcome your child to Literacy Intervention, a program that focuses on helping your child develop strategies to strengthen reading skills.  Studies have shown that student success in the early years of elementary school affect long-term learning and educational success. I am encouraging students to have the goal of not only attending college but graduating college. Literacy Intervention students will work hard this year to become proficient and independent readers as well as confident learners. I look forward to a great year getting to know your child as well as watching him or her grow as a reader.

If you need to contact me, you are welcome to send me a note, call me, or email me. I can be reached at 745-7107 or Jacqueline_Shelor@charleston.k12.sc.us.
