HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE NCES Dolphin Family!

Above, Ms. Kennerly's Child Development Class and Ms. Gross' Kindergarten Class sings "Five Fat Turkeys"! This was part of our PTA presentation on Tuesday, November 18. Below, Mrs. Stonesifer and Ms. Barone's second grade classes sing part of "My Friend Tom" which was also presented at the same PTA meeting. Students prepared a deconstructed play about "Tom" who had to escape becoming this year's Thanksgiving meal by sleeping in a tree! The students learned about teamwork, creativity, ingenuity and thankfulness!

September 14,2014
Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are very excited about our upcoming activities at NCES.  We would like to remind everyone that our scholars are required to read a book each night and have their reading log signed.

Our MAP (Measurement Academic Progress) testing has been rescheduled for later in the month of September. Please support us by making sure our scholars are having get their rest so they are RTL (Ready To Learn) when they come to school.

Please be mindful that our instructional day begins at 7:20 a.m. each day. We look forward to all of our scholars eating breakfast before they go to their classrooms. They begin each morning with their morning meeting, reading/writing centers, and mathematics instructions.  Please make sure they arrive on time and do not miss any of the highly engaging lessons their teachers have planned for them.

In conjunction with our PTA and SIC we will be hosting our middle school summit. This is a very exciting night as we help our fifth graders set goals to support their college and career readiness skills.  Please come out on Tuesday, September 16 at 5:00 pm.. If you need further information please connect with our guidance counselor, Ms. Angela Dingle.

We will be hosting several wonderful events as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month throughout our school and in our classrooms. Please  contact Ms. Tyra Johnson, our Parent Advocate for further information.

Please remember you are invited to one of our Tuesday meetings which are held at 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Thank you for working with us each and every single day.
