‚ÄčOur Annual Field Day was held on May 29th for Kindergarten through Third grade students, and on May 30th for Fourth and Fifth grade students. Students participated in various events such as the dizzy-bat relay, baton relay, potato sack race, obstacle course, spoon and egg relay, and tug-of-war just to name a few.
Big Brother Big Sister

Our 4th grade celebrated the end of the year with their mentors from the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring program! We appreciate our community partner!

Pass Pep Rally
Primary Students cheer on our elementary students as they head in to the SC PASS pep rally.  The SC PASS was held Tuesday, May 6th through Friday, May 9th. Students were encouraged to get plenty of sleep and to be on time to school so they could show what they know.

6 dedicated NCES teachers participated in the Superintendent's cup as well as many others who walked and cheered on our team. This wellness initiative is growing every year. NCES supports wellness through walks with our students, morning exercises, fruits and vegetables, and a PE program that encourages students to exercise and eat right.
Reading With the Dolphins
Our students worked hard over the break to create some very thoughtful projects for Reading With the Dolphins. The judges were impressed with the quality of the projects and spent several hours rating the projects. We have a photo gallery of our winners on the Media Center photo gallery page. Photo Gallery

Bee Publishing Party
Students in Kindergarten learned about Bees for the past two weeks. They saw a live hive of bees and then they wrote nonfiction books about bees. Parents were invited to their publishing party where they enjoyed snacks and the children read their books to their guests.
Call Me Mister

The Call Me Mister Program visited North Charleston Elementary. Male Education Majors from several local colleges were invited to join the program and consider teaching in Charleston County.
Levi Richardson
Levi Richardson won the IZLC Spelling Bee for the third year in a row. We are proud to have him at North Charleston Elementary.

Many thanks to our fabulous business partners, Cummins, for their generous donation!
Reading Cooperation
5th graders teamed up with Kindergarten students in the library to teach them how to use eBooks in the media center. Students learned to log in to MyOn reader, read a book, and take a test.
